Consumption of tobacco products increases the risk of miscarriage in women


 Information about the harm caused by tobacco products was given to pregnant mothers by holding a seminar in the District Women's Hospital.

 Lakhimpur Kheri-  Under the Tobacco Prohibition Program, a seminar was organized by the District Women's Hospital, where the people present including pregnant mothers were informed about the harmful effects of tobacco products.  ACMO Dr. Anil Kumar Gupta presided over the program.  During this, CMS Dr. Pushpalata, Psychiatrist Dr. Akhilesh Shukla, NCD Epidemiologist Dr. Rakesh Gupta informed the public about the diseases and harm caused by tobacco.
 Addressing the seminar, Nodal Officer of Tobacco Prohibition Program Dr. Anil Kumar Gupta told the expectant mothers that pregnant mothers and other women are also suffering from various diseases due to consumption of tobacco products.  If we talk about last year, 58 cancer patients have been found in the district in the financial year 2020-21.  In which 44 are women and 14 are men.  In such a situation, it is clear that somewhere cancer is being found more in women.  In such a situation, it has become clear that women should avoid this disease and if tobacco products are the main cause of cancer, then distance from them is very important.

At the same time, psychiatrist Dr. Akhilesh Shukla told that the pregnant mother and the newborn are also at high risk from tobacco products, if any pregnant woman consumes tobacco products or there is any beedi, cigarette, chillam or other around her.  If one consumes other tobacco products, then its smoke also harms the unborn baby.  In such a situation, its addiction to any member of the house harms the pregnant woman and the baby.  Due to which the risk of miscarriage also increases.  CMS District Women's Hospital Dr. Pushpalata informed that the consumption of tobacco products has increased rapidly in rural areas as well.  Today, the habit of drinking gutkha, bidi, chillam is big among women, which harms their health a lot.  During this, NCD Epidemiologist Dr. Rakesh Gupta told that cancer is an incurable disease, it is the best way to prevent it and the treatment of cancer is more expensive now which spoils the financial condition of the family.  During this, Finance cum Logistics Vijay Verma from NCD Cell, District Hospital Counselor Devnandan Srivastava, Psychiatric Social Worker Atul Pandey, Psychiatric Staff Nurse Vivek Mittal, Dr. Sushma Singh from District Women's Hospital, Dr. Archana, Pharmacist Inder Kumar Awasthi, Sushmita Verma, Ashok  Kumar Pandey, Lokesh Singh, Shipra Verma CP Pandey etc. were present.
