Lakhimpur Kheri.  A delegation of members led by BJP MLA Arvind Giri met Urban Development Minister Arvind Kumar Sharma in Lucknow to demand extension of the boundary of Gokarnath Nagar Palika Parishad and handed over the demand letter.

MLA Arvind Giri said that the Municipal Council was formed in 1949 after Gola Municipality was declared as Nagar Panchayat in 1934/35 in the demand letter submitted.  The limits of the Municipal Council have not expanded since 50-60 years.  There has been an extension of 5/6 km from the center point of the city, which cannot be developed by the city as it is outside the extended boundary city area.  The extended area comes under the Gram Sabhas, there is a lack of resources with the Gram Sabhas.

People in settled areas are forced to lead a chaotic life.

After which the Urban Development Minister has given assurance of expansion.  Due to the upcoming civic elections, the limit may not be extended.  In this regard, after raising the issue of boundary extension issue by regional MLA Arvind Giri several times in the Vidhan Sabha, it is expected that the boundary extension of Municipal Council Gola will be possible.  During this, Pankaj Gupta, Anand Soni, Rajesh Verma, Sanjay Verma, Ram Rakshapal, Rajput etc. were involved.
