Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni launched the National Sickle Cell Anemia Eradication Program

 Lakhimpur Kheri.  Eight sub-centres of two blocks of Lakhimpur district have been linked under National Sickle Cell Anemia Eradication Program in Tharu tribal areas.  This program was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh.  Whose live telecast was done at HWC Chandan Chowki and here the program was inaugurated by Union Minister of State for Home Ajay Mishra Teni.  During this, CMO Dr. Santosh Gupta was also present with him.  Along with this, CHC Chandan Chowki was also inaugurated by him.

 CMO Dr. Santosh Gupta said that with the aim of further improving the health services of Tharu tribe and Indo-Nepal border, the foundation of CHC Chandan Chowki has been laid on the instructions of the government.  Which has been inaugurated on Saturday by the Kar Kamals of Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Ajay Mishra Teni.  At the same time, the National Sickle Cell Anemia Eradication Program has also been started.  This eradication program has been launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a grand program in Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh.  Whose live telecast was seen in Health and Wellness Center Chandan Chowki premises and it has also been started in Kheri district.  He informed that Lakhimpur Kheri district is also one of the seven selected districts of Uttar Pradesh and six sub-centres of Block Palia and two sub-centres of Block Nighasan have been selected for National Sickle Cell Anemia Eradication Program, as this disease is prevalent in Tharu tribe.  

It is found only in people and all these are Tharu tribe dominated areas.  He told that people below the age of 40 years will be screened for their sickle cell status, whether they have this disease or not and their sickle cell ID card will be made.  So that he will be able to use it in events like marriage in future.

CHC Palia Superintendent Dr. Bharat Singh including ACMO Dr. Ashwani Kumar, ACMO Dr. BC Pant, Medical Officer in-charge Chandan Chowki Dr. Faizan, Dr. Ajit Singh, SDM Palia Kartiki Singh, MP representative Deepak Talwar, Sanjay Singh, Steno including Virendra Shukla  Kartikeya Mishra and DPM Anil Yadav Ankit Dixit along with other officers and employees of the health department and administration were present.
