Lakhimpur-Kheeri.  Uttar Pradesh Public Works Minister Jitin Prasad has approved an amount of Rs 221.60 lakh for construction work in different areas in Lakhimpur-Kheeri district.  Besides, he has also given instructions to the officials to start the construction work as soon as possible.  This will provide convenience to the villagers/area residents in taking their crops to the market/sugar mill and also in easy transportation.

Rajeev Agnihotri, spokesperson of Uttar Pradesh Government's Public Works Department Minister Jitendra Prasad, said that the Tapparpur to Badaiya link road is a rural category road, whose total length is 0.500 km.  This route is located in Palia assembly constituency.  RCC box culvert has been proposed in Chaunage-0.040 of this route.  This route is located in the flood affected Terai area and erosion area of Sharda River near the Nepal border.  Due to excessive rainfall during the rainy season and water being released from Nepal, the route has been cut in Chaunage 0.040, the traffic on the route has been completely blocked and the villages located on the route - Taparpurwa, Badhaiya, Bijoria and Sayyadpurwa etc. have lost contact with the tehsil headquarters.  Due to which the local villagers/area residents have to face difficulties.

Construction work of 2×6.00 meter span RCC box culvert on the local drain is proposed at a cost of Rs. 69.63 lakh, after its completion, continuous traffic on the route will be possible.  It is very important to construct this small bridge.  Being a sugarcane dominated area, the construction of a mini bridge will facilitate the nearby villagers/area residents in taking their crops to the market/sugar mill and will also facilitate easy transportation.

The proposed short bridge Gajraura link road is a rural category road, whose total length is 3.800 km.  This route is located in Palia assembly constituency.  RCC box culvert has been proposed in place of Rapta bridge in km-3 of this route.  This bridge is situated on a local drain in the flood affected Terai area near the Nepal border.  During the rainy season, due to excessive rainfall and release of water from Nepal, this area becomes heavily submerged, and due to increase in the water level, the flow of water on the slip bridge and the road becomes excessive, due to which the traffic on the road gets completely blocked and  The villages situated on the route, Gajraura, Atarnagar and Devipur etc. get lost from the tehsil headquarters, due to which the local villagers/area residents have to face difficulties.

In place of the already constructed culvert on the local drain, construction work of 4×6.00 m span RCC box culvert, access road and protective work, costing Rs. 151.97 lakh, is proposed, after its construction, continuous traffic on the road will be possible.  It is very important to construct this small bridge.  Being a sugarcane dominated area, the construction of a mini bridge will facilitate the nearby villagers/area residents in taking their crops to the market/sugar mill and will also facilitate easy transportation.
