Lakhimpur Kheri. Villagers became furious on Sunday morning in the case of the death of a 10-year-old child due to a wild animal attack late Saturday evening. On Sunday, they blocked the main road outside the village. When the police and forest officials reached the spot, the villagers started pelting stones. Due to which many police personnel and forest department employees were injured. Police vehicles were also damaged.
According to the information received, a wild animal attacked 10-year-old Chhotu alias Altamash son of Munavvar of the village in Gangabehad area of ​​​​Phoolbehad police station area late Saturday evening. He had gone to the field with his father. Chhotu died due to the attack. It is said that a leopard suddenly came out of the sugarcane field and attacked Chhotu.  By the time the villagers reached the spot after hearing the cries of his father, Chhotu was seriously injured by the leopard attack and later died. Angry villagers blocked the road on Sunday. When the police and forest department team reached to pacify the villagers, the villagers started pelting stones. Many police and forest department employees were injured and police vehicles were also damaged. Seeing the deteriorating situation, CO Sadar Ramesh Tiwari has taken charge with a heavy police force on the spot. However, the villagers are angry that despite the continuous attacks by wild animals, the forest department is unable to catch them. CO City Ramesh Tiwari said that after the stone pelting by the villagers, a heavy police force has been deployed to control the situation. At the same time, talks are also being held with the forest department to catch the leopard.
