Lakhimpur Kheri: New record created in wheat procurement, new chapter added to the prosperity of farmers!

Lakhimpur Kheri. In the Rabi marketing year 2025-26, Lakhimpur Kheri district has created a new history in wheat procurement and secured second place at the state level. DM Durga Shakti Nagpal's active monitoring, strategic management and farmer-friendly thinking played an important role behind this unprecedented achievement.

So far, 40513.89 metric tonnes of wheat has been procured from 4641 farmers in Lakhimpur Kheri district. This figure not only reflects the success of the administrative system, but also indicates a positive change in the lives of the farmers of the district.

DM Durga Shakti Nagpal said that our goal is that every farmer gets a fair price for his hard work, on time and without any hindrance.  The introduction of mobile purchase centers has been a part of this thinking, and its result is in front of us.

*Mobile purchase centers become an example of change*

A total of 159 wheat purchase centers have been established in the district to make the purchase process simple, transparent and accessible. These include 28 centers of Food Department, 59 of PCF, 40 of UPCU, 15 of UPSS and 17 centers of Food Corporation of India. All these centers have been converted into mobile purchase centers, so that wheat is now being purchased at the doorstep of the farmers. With this innovative initiative, farmers do not need to stand in line for hours or travel to far-flung centers.

The payment process has also been made faster and more transparent than ever. Farmers are being paid in their Aadhaar linked bank accounts within 24 to 48 hours. With this, farmers are able to meet their needs on time and their purchasing power in the market has also increased.
