Administration strict to curb crime: ADM held monthly review meeting of prosecution work, gave instructions
ADM Narendra Bahadur Singh said, punish the culprits in serious cases at all costs

Lakhimpur Kheri, June 27. A monthly review meeting of prosecution work was held under the chairmanship of ADM Narendra Bahadur Singh in the Collectorate late on Thursday evening. While reviewing the pending cases in the meeting, he gave necessary instructions to the prosecution officers.
ADM Narendra Bahadur Singh said that effective advocacy should be ensured in cases of serious nature, so that the culprits can be given severe punishment. He said that this message should go to the criminals that they cannot escape punishment even after committing the smallest crime. He also directed that 100 percent examination of the witnesses appearing in the court should be ensured. Also, in the cases which have been acquitted, appeal proceedings should be done compulsorily as per the rules. In the meeting, the officials associated with the prosecution apprised the ADM about the status of various pending cases and also shared their suggestions to make the judicial process effective.
The ADM reviewed the presence of witnesses in the courts and the reasons for their turning hostile with the present government advocates and prosecution officers. The ADM told the police department and prosecution department that summons should be served in a time-bound manner. Maximum witnesses should be examined before the courts. It should be ensured in every case that witnesses are not withdrawn without reason. The percentage of punishment should be increased by successful prosecution in the cases pending in the courts. So that the old cases pending in the courts can be disposed of soon.
Joint Director (Prosecution), Senior Prosecution Officer, Prosecution Officer, Assistant Prosecution Officer, District Government Advocate (Criminal), Special Public Prosecutor, ADGC Criminal, Additional Government Advocate, Special Public Prosecutor were present in the meeting.
