Lakhimpur Kheri, January 16. To make the voter list accurate and transparent, the Election Commission of India has accelerated the Special Intensive Revision - 2026 program. The period for receiving claims and objections under the Special Intensive Revision - 2026 program is until February 6, 2026.
On the instructions of the Chief Electoral Officer, Uttar Pradesh, the Commission has fixed four special campaign days. A special campaign will be conducted at all designated locations in the district on January 17 and 18, and January 31 and February 1. On these dates, the presence of the designated officer will be mandatory at every polling station, along with the necessary staff.
During the special campaign, a help desk will be set up at every booth, where voters will be assisted in filling out the forms. Forms 6, 6A, 7, and 8 (including the declaration form) will be available in sufficient numbers. All claims and objections received will be systematically documented so that they can be readily available during inspection. Booth Level Agents of recognized national and state-level political parties will also be informed of the campaign dates and their cooperation will be sought.
To make the campaign effective, the Electoral Registration Officer and Assistant Electoral Registration Officer will personally visit the designated locations. The visit schedule will be planned in such a way that no booth is left out. Under this, on January 18, from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM, all Booth Level Officers will be present at their respective booths and will read out the draft electoral roll. The BLOs will also have a list of uncollectable, absent, shifted, deceased, and duplicate voters, so that correct information can be provided to the voters.
For monitoring, the District Election Officer will personally inspect 5 booths and the Deputy District Election Officer will inspect 10 booths. Meanwhile, the Electoral Registration Officer and Assistant Officers will visit 10 percent of the polling stations in their respective assembly constituencies.
District Election Officer Durga Shakti Nagpal appealed to voters to check their names and the names of their family members on the Election Commission of India's website voters.eci.gov.in and the Voter Helpline app, and to apply through the prescribed forms if necessary, so that no eligible citizen is deprived of their right to vote.
